Medically Supervised Weight Management

At Medicura we don’t believe in weight loss, instead we like to think of it as weight management.

Throughout most people’s lives weight can become an issue. So using a Four Pillar Approach to Weight Management is the basis of our medically supervised weight management consultations.

We treat Obesity and Weight Management as a chronic condition and support our patients with all aspects including nutrition, exercise/activity, metabolism optimisation, prescription medications where required and psychological and behaviour tools to ensure lifelong success.

Please book a New Patient Long Consultation to get started, this can be face to face or via Telehealth

The Four Pillars for
Healthy Weight Management are:

  1. Nutrition and Eating Habits

  2. Activity or Exercise

  3. Metabolism, Hormones, Ensuring Optimal Body Function from the Inside Out, Prescription Medications (if required)

  4. Psychological and Behavioural Tools to ensure good habits are formed and mindfulness is achieved to have a healthy relationship with food, exercise and body image

Medications such as GLP-1, GIP receptor agonists, are only one piece of the puzzle.

At Medicura we love to support our patients by addressing all four pillars. We are experienced in medically supervised weight management and helping patients achieve lasting results.

Healthy behaviours create healthy humans.

This approach sees our patients improve their health outcomes.
Our patients often see improved blood pressure readings, improved cholesterol levels, and healthier blood sugar levels, which helps to decrease their risk of heart disease or diabetes in the future. Many patients also see a decrease in aches and pains and the ability to live more freely.

We implement a commonsense evidence-based approach

We work with your lifestyle and preferences.
Medicura patients are seen by their health practitioner every 2 weeks initially, and then moves to every 4-8 weeks. This enables Our Four Pillar Approach to be optimised. Short-term goal therapy is included in this method. We are not a cookie cutter approach. We help our patients adopt lifelong healthy habits, to ensure the best possible health outcomes, results, and sustainable wellness.
